Food just tastes better outdoors! Piedmont Park has hundreds of great picnic spots where you can put down your blanket and lay out your spread. If you have a large group, you may want to rent one of two covered picnic pavilions. WPA Picnic Shelter, Piedmont Park.
The Work Progress Administration (WPA) built the Picnic Shelter in 1936. It measures 40’ x 60’ and can accommodate 160 people standing or 64 seated. Electricity and water are available. There are two built-in grills adjacent to the shelter.
Bandstand, Piedmont Park.
The nearby two-story brick Bandstand was built in 1915. It has a capacity of 30 people standing, or 25 seated. Electricity is available, but the Bandstand does not offer water.
