Jason Taylor, Education and Environmental Manager
Piedmont Park Conservancy

The 29 year-old Taylor says he loves being around nature and animals, including his pets --
all five of them: two snakes, one iguana, his chocolate lab named Georgia and Bridgette, his cat.

Q: How long have you been working in programs like the Summer Camp?
I have been leading environmental educations programs for more than seven years now. Before coming to Piedmont Park Conservancy, I supervised programs for Zoo Atlanta and the Bear Creek Nature Center.

Q: What is the focus of environmental education at Summer Camp?
Through environmental education at Piedmont Park, our campers gain an understanding of how their individual actions affect the park, community and natural environment. We also offer our campers with a wealth of sporting activities, like volleyball, tennis and bike riding.

Q: How can environmental education influence my kids?
By focusing on the positive, the exciting and superlatives of environmental education, we are preparing children to become more empathetic to the natural environment when they are older. We teach our campers what it means to be green at an early age and equip them with the means to make an immediate contribution to the environment.
