New in 2010! - Home School Field Trip THURSDAYS!
The first Thursday of every month is dedicated to Atlanta’s home school families. From understanding habitats and ecosystems to identifying species and learning about food chains, the lessons are comprehensive and engaging. We will provide programming for multiple age and family groups simultaneously. There is no charge for adult chaperones.

EnviroVentures Field Trips
Embark on environmental adventures with your students and discover the wonders of nature, right in the heart of Atlanta! Our program’s hands-on learning focuses on the unique environmental niche of Atlanta’s favorite Park.
Availability & Times:

Animal Families – Kindergarten
Does a young frog look like its parent? What is a raccoon cub’s best sense? Compare and contrast growing up as a human to growing up in the wild as students are engaged in unique games and activities.
Needs, Nature, & Nurture – 1st to 2nd Grades
Find out what every single animal needs to survive and how many animals and plants go through exciting changes throughout their lives. Enjoy a casual hike looking for animals and plants that call Piedmont Park home.
Habitat Hunt – 3rd to 4th Grades
Discover the regions of Georgia and the many unique ecosystems and habitats within our diverse state, while learning about the delicate balance and different components of food chains and food webs.
Piedmont Park CLASSIFIED – 5th Grade +
Learn how to classify plants and animals of Georgia. Students will hike the Park looking for unique and diverse plant life while learning to classify some common animals of Georgia.
Historical Tour – 5th Grade +
Learn about the history of Piedmont Park and get a little exercise. The tour 2 hours and covers all phases of the park’s development - forest, the Walker farm, fairgrounds for the Piedmont Exposition of 1887, the Cotton States and International Exposition of 1895, the transformation of the fairgrounds into a suburban park, and the current status of Piedmont Park as Atlanta’s premier urban park.
