DESCRIPTION:Guest Speaker: Investigative Reporter at CBS Atlanta News First\, Rachel Polansky\, will be talking about what it’s like being a reporter\, why she became a reporter\, what her day-to-day looks like\, and some of her favorite investigations. Plus\, she’ll answer any questions you might have! \nRachel Polansky is an Edward R. Murrow and Emmy award-winning investigative reporter at CBS Atlanta News First. Rachel is most proud of her investigative reporting that has enacted change at both local and statewide levels. Before moving to Georgia\, Rachel worked as an investigative reporter in New York\, Florida and Ohio. When she’s not reporting\, you can find Rachel at a yoga studio or at Piedmont Park\, where she enjoys spending time with her husband\, Dominic\, and their golden retriever rescue\, Willow. \nJoin the Conservancy and fellow park fans for a weekly group walk in Piedmont Park! \nEvery Tuesday\, we host a 45-minute walk on Tuesdays at 10am. Each walk will feature different popular paths while answering any questions you may have about Piedmont Park or the Conservancy. \nFor questions\, please contact Hannah Franklin at programs@piedmontpark.org. \nMeet at the south entrance to the Active Oval five minutes prior to departure. DESCRIPTION:The Piedmont Park History Walking Tours include an introduction to the park’s vibrant past and present. Walk with us and discover how Piedmont Park’s rich history is undeniably intertwined with the development of Atlanta. Together\, we’ll explore the fascinating historical and physical evolution of iconic Piedmont Park from forest to farm to fairgrounds for the Piedmont Exposition of 1887 and the Cotton States and International Exposition of 1895\, to Atlanta’s premier urban greenspace. \n\nLed by docent volunteers\nFree and open to all ages\nPlease wear appropriate clothing for the weather as the tour is outside and involves walking\n10 am; 60 – 90 minutes in length\nMeet at Green Market and Conservancy information table located at 12th St. and Piedmont Ave. NE Park entrance\n\nPlease register here. \n  \n
