We’ll cover the basics of water bath and pressure canning\, as well as which foods require which treatment for safe and shelf stable preservation of your seasonal harvest! This is a hands-on workshop. Each participant will take home a jar of canned tomatoes that we make as a group.\n\nAll materials included. 10 registrants minimum required for the program to run. The tours are led by Piedmont Park Conservancy Docents. Join us and discover how Piedmont Park’s rich history is undeniably intertwined with the development of Atlanta. Together\, we’ll explore the fascinating historical and physical evolution of iconic Piedmont Park from forest to farm to fairgrounds for the Piedmont Exposition of 1887 and the Cotton States and International Exposition of 1895\, to Atlanta’s premier urban green space. \nMeet in front of the Visitor center which is located near the 12th Street Entrance gate. \n*Registration closes at 12pm the day before the tour. Walk ups are welcome but space is not guaranteed.\nYou will receive an email reminder a few days before your scheduled tour. Any questions please send an email to volunteer@piedmontpark.org.
