As a first step in implementing the new Comprehensive Plan for Piedmont Park, the Piedmont Park Conservancy is proud to introduce a dazzling new tradition: a 50-foot Holiday Tree that will shine bright over Atlanta starting November 2025!
More than a treeโthis is a symbol of hope, peace, and togetherness for our entire community. Join us as we light up the park with cheer and create magical moments for all ages.
Why a Holiday Tree in Piedmont Park?
For decades, the Richโs store in downtown Atlanta hosted a beloved tree lighting that brought families together to experience the magic of the season. Sadly, this tradition no longer exists, leaving a void in the cityโs holiday celebrations. We envision the 50-foot holiday tree at Piedmont Park as a new home for this cherished traditionโone that will inspire new memories for future generations.
With over 6 million visitors annually, Piedmont Park is Atlantaโs front yardโa natural gathering place for joy and celebration. With nearby attractions like the Atlanta Botanical Garden and seasonal ice skating, the park is already a holiday hub. Now, imagine a sparkling 50-foot tree visible from the Atlanta Beltline, surrounded by decorations, displays, and family fun.
This annual event will include:
- A grand Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony
- Festive displays including a menorah and kinara, honoring diverse traditions of light and unity
- Plans for future seasonal markets and family activities
A Magical Experience for All
Our goal is to make Piedmont Park the heart of Atlanta’s holiday traditions. The lighting of the holiday tree will serve as a new chapter in the park’s historyโa gift to the community that will inspire joy, connection, and hope for generations to come.
