She began her conservation work by zookeeping\, where she unearthed her joy for teaching others about wildlife and conservation careers. SUMMARY:Mushroom Growing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Come join us as we inoculate hardwood logs with oyster mushroom spawn! This technique is used to produce various kinds of mushrooms commercially or at home. Participants can expect to learn the basics of how mushrooms grow and how to grow them in this way including drilling holes\, using specialized tools to fill these holes with sawdust spawn\, and sealing the holes with wax. We will also discuss other cultivation techniques used commercially as well as ones suited to the at-home hobbyist. It will be a fun way to learn a new skill\, make some friends\, and make use of the shadier parts of your yard or garden.
