Conservancy Giving Circles

If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s there’s a difference between things we do to keep the lights on and things we need to feel alive again. Yes, there’s a lot to experience in Piedmont Park: green fields, lake views, flora and fresh air. But what Piedmont Park has is less important than what those things do: they revive and renew you. They are lifelines in difficult times: reminders of what we love and what matters.

Piedmont Park in turn depends on the efforts of the Piedmont Park Conservancy for as much as 90% of its upkeep annually. The Conservancy relies on a community of donors like you who proudly shoulder responsibility for its welfare. Giving to the Conservancy preserves and honors our connection to Piedmont Park.

How Your Gift Makes an Impact

The Conservancy’s Giving Circles play a significant role in preserving and sustaining Piedmont Park through annual gifts to the Conservancy of $1,000 or more.

Because of our supporters, here are a few moments witnessed in 2020 that were able to happen.

  • Dozens of baby birds were born in the Park this summer. These tiny residents spent the beginning of their life exploring Lake Clara Meer, the Meadow and other parts of the Park before heading off into the world.
  • Jenny S. took a daily stroll along the many paths in the Park. These walks cleared her head and gave her much needed exercise to power through the rest of her day.
  • James and his son Evan P. were able to enjoy nature in the heart of the city by watching the ducks swimming in the lake.
  • Kat A. said “Yes!” to Matthew W.’s perfect proposal in the Park. Many couples eloped at Dockside, Magnolia Hall Lawn and throughout the Park.
  • Toddler Brooke visited Piedmont Park for the first time and was able to enjoy the green grass, crunchy leaves and wide-open spaces to move around.

“In this challenging time, we can’t undervalue the importance of accessing nature for all of us, and the ability to safely be outdoors. COVID-19 has proven that we need greenspace now more than ever. Piedmont Park is a lifeline for every Atlantan with hundreds of acres to spread out while still enjoying each other.

Behind the beauty of our green jewel in Atlanta is the support of the Piedmont Park Conservancy. Jonas volunteers weekly to further help the efforts of the Conservancy’s landscape team. With his volunteerism and my involvement with the Landmark Luncheon, we have realized that Piedmont Park truly relies on the efforts of donors and volunteers for the Piedmont Park Conservancy.”- Johanna and Jonas Reisinger
