Imagine your children’s summer memories taking place in Piedmont Park. In the heart of Atlanta, the Piedmont Park Conservancy offers fun, safe and hands-on experiences while instilling the importance of green space in future generations.

Summer camp at Piedmont Park provides a healthy and engaging activity schedule for learners ages 5-10.  

The 2021 camp season is now over. Check back in January 2022 for dates, themes and sign-ups for the 2022 season.

Piedmont Park Conservancy is excited to offer a summer full of EnviroVentures for your children!  

EnviroVentures summer camp is offered to learners ages 5-10.

Each camp session features STEAM-focused activities, hands-on science experiments, exploration of the Park, arts and crafts, park stewardship, special programs and much more!

2021 Weekly Themes

June 7-10: Focus on Flight

From birds to rockets, we’re going up! We’ll study the mechanics that make flight possible and design experiments to test them.

June 14-17: Ocean Discoveries

Dive into a week of ocean exploration with us as we discover the animals that live in our oceans and the amazing ocean food web. We will also learn what we can do to protect the oceans.

June 21-24: Nature’s Engineers

Discover the forces and animals that engineer change! Weather, water and awesome animals like beavers will be our guides as we learn about cause and effect. 

June 28- July 1: Invertebrate Investigations

They’re under your feet and buzzing by your head, invertebrates are everywhere! We’ll use our microscopes to study these interesting animals and learn all about their taxonomy.

July 5-8: Trees and Leaves

Branch out into a week of plant exploration! We’ll seek out patterns in plants, learn about their basic needs and uncover the adaptations that help them survive in different habitats. 

July 12-15: Freshwater Flow

Join us to learn about the fundamentals of freshwater! From lakes to rivers, and the Okefenokee Swamp we’ll learn about these freshwater resources and the plants and animals that share them with us.

July 19-22: Science of Senses

Have you ever wanted to know how a fly sees the world or what happens when the sun goes down and the nocturnal animals wake up? We’ll use the scientific method to explore our senses and the adaptations of the animals around us. 

July 26-29: Ecosystem Energy

Follow the flow of energy in an ecosystem as we wrap up summer in the Park! From decomposers to the basic needs of plants and animals, we’ll track the energy while learning about habitats and food webs in the Park.

Fun Fitness Add On

Extend your time with us by joining our fun fitness program in the afternoons. NSCA certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Saidah Jones, will lead this program packed with kids’ cardio, super strength, fun flexibility and aquatics (dependent on pool opening). This fun fitness program is designed for participants to gain body awareness, improve health, boost mental focus and have fun!

Hours:

Drop Off:  8:30am-9:00am

Program Session: 9:00am-12:00pm

Pick Up: 12:00pm-12:30pm

Afternoon Fitness Session: 1:00pm-3:00pm **Extra $60 per week**

Pickup for the fitness session runs from 3:00pm-3:30pm

Rates: $195/week per child; Optional Fun Fitness Session additional $60 per week

2021 Park Leadership Team

Our Park Leadership Team is a great option for those ages 11-15 that are interested in serving as Park ambassadors. The Park Leadership team will participate in a range of activities including: engaging with Park visitors, participating in public programs in the Park and, developing and producing creative content for Park learners. All while getting to spend summer in the Park with their peers!

Each week the Park Leadership Team will complete a service project in the Park like building a Little Free Library or working to create a new pollinator garden or painting an educational art piece in the Community Garden.

The Park Leadership Team meets in weekly sessions Monday-Thursday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Participants are asked to join the team for at least two sessions during the summer.

There is a fee of $175 per session of Park Leadership Team. Interested in joining our Park Leadership Team? Apply now!
